| Grayson DeJesus is an actor currently based in San Diego. At Henry M. Gunn High School, he and Artistic Director, Dan Moyer, collaborated on many projects including hosting Open Mic Nights, creating and overseeing the first Gunndance Film Festivals, making a series of fictional and documentary films and acting, directing and playwriting together in works under the guidance and direction of Jim Shelby like Pirates of Penzance, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and One Act Festivals. Grayson has fond memories of being spat on during the impassioned and captivating speeches of Will Brill’s John Proctor to his Reverend Hale in The Crucible, Senior Year. Grayson holds a BA in Theater from Occidental College. Some of his favorite roles in undergrad include Silvius in As You Like It, Austin in True West, and Hastings in She Stoops to Conquer. He received the Jack Bell award for acting for his performance of Segis in Sheila Callaghan’s Fever/Dream. Regional Credits include Romeo and Juliet, All’s Well That Ends Well, The Antiquarian’s Family at Shakespeare Santa Cruz. In Los Angeles, he had the privilege in acting in the world premier of Pat McGowan’s FILM at the Theater of Note. At NYU, he and Brill were part of one of the first productions of Moyer’s Here I Go Boys, Wish Me Luck. He has been in many other Moyer works including A Diner, A Shiner, Houdini, and Rudy,Athens. Last summer, he was a part of Shelby’s Company’s cross country tour playing Jonah in Moyer’s Winnemucca (Three Days In The Belly) at San Jose Stage Company, The Minnesota Fringe Festival and The New York Fringe Festival. He is currently pursuing his MFA in the Old Globe/USD program where he played in The Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Country Wife, and The Chekhov/Carver project. This summer, he will be acting in The Old Globe’s Outdoor Shakespeare Festival in King Lear, The Madness of King George III, and The Taming of The Shrew. |
